Well after 3+ years of trying, I finally hit some REAL lag. CCP is kind enough to even have the client tell you that no, it's not you, it's the 1000+ other pilots. It also serves a purpose by providing a link to the communications monitor. Very nice. Unlike the whines of "fix the lag". I'm more cognoscente of the issues involved and realize that until they can split their physics engine up between multiple processors, the odds of lag above 1300 players disappearing are slim.
Last night I went around and did the "pick up the datacores" routine. I really do need to get 2 more agents (aka get that skill to 5 one day). Was a nice injection of cash. Kind of offset the recent sprint of expensive skills I've acquired.
Apart from that I'm going to have to decide soon what I am going to do corp wise - stay in high sec and check out the Sancha thing or start making some investigations as to a potential corp in 0.0. With a big alliance. We'll see.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: it is the people who keep doing these massive fights that are causing the lag that they hate. And it's one of the important reasons why I want nothing to do with so called "epic" fights that has lag so bad that it decides the fight instead of the respective fleets' composition.
I've been reading your blog for a while know, and respect your intelligence. Would you consider joining TEST ALLIANCE PLEASE IGNORE? We're a fun bunch of horrible posters who are in the game for the fun of being a hotting hollering gang of barbarians. But we have elegant logistics chains, knowledgeable teachers, patient leaders, and more bad posting behind all that chaos.
Cozmik: These epic fights are extremely fun, and they are one of the big selling points of EVE, something that separates it from its competitors. And fleet comp during lag is important: imagine a wormhole effect where everyones ROF is the same....some fits are better than others in that.
About datacore farming... If you can get an alt to grind the required standing again, It is more effective to use a month of skill training on an alt to gain access to 4 more agents.
@Dinoboff I know, but since my main alt is still building up some hauling related skills and what not it'll be a while before I grind up his standing with someone.
I also intend to do that with my main research character on the 3rd account one day (once he gets past maxed out invention skills... one day... when I re-activate that account...)
