Puts on missioning hat

Lokis are overkill.

Proof:

The Assault

At some point in the 2nd pocket of "The Assault" mission I noticed that most of the battleships were bunched up and decided to take a snapshot. There are also 2 more Dominixes at range that did not make it into the picture (although their railgun fire did). That's 3 Battlecruisers and 8 battleships in that picture. Current state of my shields?: 100%...

I chewed through a lot of ammo in that mission.

Show-off ^_^ One day I will be able to afford one WITHOUT flippin PLEX.

If a Myrmidon had slightly better DPS, THAT would be overkill - well almost.

Not that my young, broke ass is complaining.....not many things in this game are gravy for a lone wolf.

More! How does the time taken/dps compare to an AC Maelstrom? I'm considering getting a Vargur but if the Loki can do the same or better I'd be quite keen to finally go for a T3 - could you post your fit?

Yeah, ammo expenditure when using Medium sized guns is "interesting"; I have the same thing happening since I've been using the Sleipnir. The upside is that the usually annoying elite cruisers are no longer annoying >:)

@Okami: That's my 3rd Loki, the previous 2 dies embarasing deaths to Sleepers. I built all 3 of my Lokies myself and never used a PLEX to make them.

@Marschant: It handles frigates and cruisers better than the Maelstrom. Tank due to speed and sig radius is much better but it's not a DPS tank its a damage avoidance tank. Kill all frigates first - they are your highest priority targets. The tank is a perma-tank (i.e. turn on hardeners, dc, booster and ab and forget about it until everything is dead). There are much better tanks but you sacrifice about half the DPS I get with 6 guns and the gyro so I prefer to have slightly less tank, depend on the speed of the after-burning bonus (730 m/s) to keep me out of trouble.

@ Letrange - for a GOOD while yet PLEX is the only way for me to afford one. And at that price....completely undriven show car for the first while.

I am about to cruise your blog more to see about any posts - but just how difficult is T3 production?? My second toon has production/research skills coming along good with mining on the side. I am tryin to get an idea of how far I should take it.

My combat toon is at 10 mil SP, industrialist 9.5 mil so I have a ways to go, I know.

@Okami: One of these days I need to tag my posts by subject (with over 400 posts I dread the day). But yes if you dig you'll find plenty of T3 posts. There's a lot of T2/T3 cross over skill wise. Sort of like 70% of the skills you want for one you want for the other. For example you need cruiser construction 5 for both heavy Interdictors and Strategic Cruiser hulls.

DAMN, five?? And don't you need frig V for cruiser??

I think I will train a little combat for him now, because once I get into the construction skills....I shall never return :-)

A diggin into your blog I will go....

Actually all you need is Frig IV (which explains why I can make command ships but not assault ships... I'll eventually backfill that one day - but first BS weaponry to T2).
